Art work Executed and signed by famous interior Decorator and known artist, R.H. Grellou, (Raymond Grellou) known for his passion for ornamental designs and decoration of the Italian school of the XVI , XVII and XVIIIth centuries, the French school of the XVIII th century, and inspired by and attributed to names such as Claude Audran III, Henry Augustus Jean Berain, Ferdinando Bibiena, Juste-Nathan-François Boucher, Paul Cauvet Gilles, Jean-Charles Delafosse, Jean-Demosthenes Dugourc, Nicolas Pineau, Jean-Louis Prieur, Pierre Ranson and Henri Salembier. Among his customers were luxury names such as Henry Ford II (1956) and Hector Lefuel. Grellou was active in Paris from 1925 till his death in 1965. Qualified as an entrepreneur in interior decorating, he is also know as a collector of art and is well noted within many collections today such as the Frick collection.

The piano is covered with exquisite hand paintings of Chinoiserie , a European tradition handed down from designs of the Luxury items from the 17th and 18th centuries (please see pianopedia for more information on chinoiserie). Standing on a support of six legs in the Louis XV style. Piano in the form of a harpsichord.
The piano was one of Grellous “masterpieces” and was sent to be shown in New York Newel Art Galleries the year the piano was completed.
