A fine unique Shiraz rug in a so-called Royal Hunting design, or Hunting Tree design. Handmade in the 1930s. 
The design refers to the Safavid Period (1501–۱۷۳۲) of ancient Persia. Five noblemen on horses with bows, sabres, spears, are hunting chamois, deers, tigres, wild cats and other animals. The background is held in a friendly sky-blue, and a fertile landscape with blossoming trees and flowers is the playground for the noble riders. In the four edges of the terracotta-coloured border four hunters are kneeing with bows.
This amazing rug is in its very well preserved perfect original condition.
The dyes are natural with symmetrical knots.
This is a magnificent piece.
Motifs of Iranian hunt using natural colors of Navy blue, gold, yellow, and creamy white. Orange, Brown and Pink background areas. Representing the hunt, showing deer and jackals from the Safavid period.
